In this video, I will show you how to permanently hide your recent documents, presentations, and workbooks in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Each time you open one of your Microsoft Office products using a Windows shortcut, you will land on the "Home" menu. Here, you will be able to see a list of recent documents if you're using Word, presentations if you're using PowerPoint, and workbooks if you're using Excel. To prevent these recent file lists from displaying in "Recent "watch this video. I will also show you how to hide unpinned folders lists for Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Steps To Hide Recent Documents And Unpinned Folders Lists In Microsoft Word:
1. Open up the Microsoft Word program
2. Click "Options" at the bottom left hand corner to open up "Word Options"
3. Click "Advanced" on the left hand side of the Word Options window
4. Scroll down until you see "Display"
5. In the text box next to "Show this number of Recent Documents" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
6. In the text box next to "Show this number of unpinned Recent Folders" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
7. Click "OK" at the bottom left hand corner of the Word Options window
8. Close out of the Microsoft Word program
9. Reopen Microsoft Word to no longer be greeted with a list of your documents and unpinned folders lists.
Steps To Hide Recent Presentations And Unpinned Folders Lists In Microsoft PowerPoint:
1. Open up the Microsoft PowerPoint program
2. Click "Options" at the bottom left hand corner to open up "PowerPoint Options"
3. Click "Advanced" on the left hand side of the PowerPoint Options window
4. Scroll down until you see "Display"
5. In the text box next to "Show this number of Recent Presentations" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
6. In the text box next to "Show this number of unpinned Recent Folders" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
7. Click "OK" at the bottom left hand corner of the PowerPoint Options window
8. Close out of the Microsoft PowerPoint program
9. Reopen Microsoft PowerPoint to no longer be greeted with a list of your presentations and unpinned folders lists.

1. Open up the Microsoft Excel program
2. Click "Options" at the bottom left hand corner to open up "Excel Options"
3. Click "Advanced" on the left hand side of the Excel Options window
4. Scroll down until you see "Display"
5. In the text box next to "Show this number of Recent Workbooks" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
6. In the text box next to "Show this number of unpinned Recent Folders" delete the number 50 and replace it with the number 0
7. Click "OK" at the bottom left hand corner of the Excel Options window
8. Close out of the Microsoft Excel program
9. Reopen Microsoft Excel to no longer be greeted with a list of your workbooks and unpinned folders lists.
