0Sharing your live location on Google Maps is a simple and convenient way to let others track your real-time movement. This feature is useful for meeting up with friends, letting family members know your whereabouts, or ensuring safety while traveling.
To begin, open the Google Maps app on your phone and make sure your location services (GPS) are turned on. Once your current location is displayed on the map, tap on your profile icon in the top right corner. From the menu, select Location Sharing.
Next, tap on the "New Share" button. Google Maps will ask for location access permissions if you haven’t granted them yet. Tap Continue to proceed. You can now choose how long you want to share your live location. Options include a specific time frame, such as one or two hours, or "Until you turn it off," which keeps sharing active until you manually stop it.
After selecting the duration, you’ll see a list of sharing options. You can send the live location link through apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, or email, or you can copy the link and share it manually. If you choose a limited-time share, the link will automatically expire when the time runs out.
Anyone with the link can view your live location within the set time frame, making it easy for them to track your movements. If you ever want to stop sharing before the set time, simply return to the Location Sharing menu and turn it off.
