How to Show FPS, CPU, GPU performance Playing Games on PC with Windows Game Bar (Easy Tutorial)
You can easily monitor FPS, CPU, GPU, and other system performance metrics while playing games on a Windows PC using the Windows Game Bar. Here’s how to set it up:
Steps to Show Performance Metrics in Windows Game Bar
1. Enable the Windows Game Bar
Press Win + G to open the Game Bar.
If it doesn’t open, make sure it’s enabled:
Go to Settings (Win + I).
Navigate to Gaming - Xbox Game Bar.
Toggle the switch to On.
2. Access the Performance Widget
Press Win + G to open the Game Bar while in a game.
Look for the Performance widget in the overlay.
If it’s not visible, click the Widget Menu (a rectangle with lines icon) and select Performance.
3. Configure the Metrics to Display
In the Performance widget, click the Pin icon to keep it visible during gameplay.
Click the Settings (gear) icon in the Performance widget.
Select the metrics you want to display:
FPS
CPU Usage
GPU Usage
RAM Usage
4. Enable FPS Counter
The FPS counter requires additional setup the first time:
In the Performance widget, click on Request Access under the FPS option if prompted.
Follow the on-screen instructions to grant the necessary permissions.
Restart your PC to finalize the setup.
5. Resize and Reposition the Widget
Drag the Performance widget to a location on the screen where it won’t obstruct your view during gameplay.
Resize it by dragging the corners if needed.
6. Pin the Performance Widget
Once configured, click the Pin icon in the widget to ensure it stays visible even when you close the Game Bar overlay.
