How to Solve the Clock Puzzle in Betty's Room in Bexhill in Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders
Grab the clock small arm clockwise until you stop at 12:00. You will hear Poirot comment on this if you're successful. If it doesn’t work, exit out of the clock puzzle and start over.
Look at the foot on the front right of the clock and unscrew it. Then look at the decoration on the top of the clock directly above that foot and unscrew it as well. You can now open the wooden panel on the right side. Inside the panel is a diagram and a key.
Open the top panel to reveal a series of gears and switches. The diagram you saw earlier shows you how to set the switches: Set the top left switch far to the right, then the top right switch to the left (x1), and move both bottom switches to the middle. Now use the key in the gears on the top left and bottom right and lastly on the gear in the middle.
Return to the clock face and look at the disc above it. Use the key to remove it. This lets you open the left panel. Take and read both letters.
