How to Stop Twitch Homepage Stream from Autoplaying
The featured stream on the Twitch homepage is set to play automatically by default. There is currently no way to disable the video from autoplaying when I’m the browser version of Twitch. However, you can prevent the stream from playing using a Chrome extension or Firefox add on.
Better Twitch TV is one of the most popular extensions for Twitch, as it adds more emotes and feature to the platform. One of the features is the ability to stop the homepage Twitch stream from playing automatically.
You will have access to the Better TTV settings once BTTV has been connected to your Twitch account, and added to your browser. The settings can be accessed from the gear icon under any Twitch chat, or by clicking on your profile picture in the top corner.
The BTTV settings will appear as a box in the middle of your browser. You can navigate through all of the settings manually, or use the search bar to find the homepage autoplay option.
Once you have set the homepage video to be paused, you can close the BTTV settings.
