To sync your Firestick remote to control your TV’s volume, you’ll need a Firestick remote with volume buttons (like the Alexa Voice Remote included with Firestick 4K or later models) and a TV that supports HDMI-CEC. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Ensure HDMI-CEC Is Enabled on Your TV
Check your TV’s manual or settings menu to confirm it supports HDMI-CEC. It might be called something different depending on the brand (e.g., Samsung: Anynet+, LG: SimpLink, Sony: Bravia Sync).

Go to your TV’s settings menu, find the HDMI-CEC option, and turn it on. This allows devices connected via HDMI to communicate and control each other.

Plug your Firestick into an HDMI port on your TV—preferably one labeled for CEC if specified.
Step 2: Set Up Equipment Control on Firestick
Turn on your TV and Firestick.

On the Firestick home screen, use your remote to go to Settings (gear icon at the top).

Select Equipment Control.

Choose Manage Equipment, then select TV.

Click Change TV. The Firestick will try to detect your TV’s brand automatically.
If it shows the correct brand, select Yes.

If not, select No, then pick your TV’s manufacturer from the list (e.g., Samsung, LG, Sony).
Step 3: Pair the Remote
Follow the on-screen prompt to press the Power button on your Firestick remote. This tests if it can turn your TV off.

If the TV turns off, wait 10 seconds, then press the Power button again to turn it back on.

When asked if the Power button worked, select Yes if it did, or No to try a different IR profile (repeat until it works).

Next, test the volume: Press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on your Firestick remote.

If the TV volume adjusts, select Yes when prompted. If not, select No and let it try another profile.
Step 4: Save and Test
Once the power and volume work, select Next or OK to save the settings.

Test the remote: Use the Volume Up, Volume Down, Mute, and Power buttons to ensure full control.
