If your YubiKey security key is genuine, the verification will be successful and the type, firmware version, and FIDO level certification will be displayed. YubiKey is a hardware authentication device used for two-factor authentication (2FA) of online accounts and even physical spaces.

Verify your YubiKey https://www.yubico.com/genuine/
Steps To Verify Your YubiKey:
1. Navigate to https://www.yubico.com/genuine/
2. Insert your Yubikey into your computer or mobile device
3. Click Verify Device
4. Follow the displayed instructions
*Note 1: If you're using a Windows device follow the steps below:
*5. A small popup windows called windows security will be displayed, select Security key and click Next
*6. Click Next
*7. Click ok
*8. Click ok again
*9. Touch your physical YubiKey
*10. Click ok
*11. Verification will then complete and result will be displayed
Note 2: If after step *8 above you are being prompted for a security key pin and your YubiKey is a brand device, then you will need to reset your FIDO2 pin using the YubiKey Manager or Yubico Authentication application (app). YubiKeys usually come straight from the factory without a default pin set. If your Yubikey has a security key pin set then it is most likely due to buying a key from a third party reseller or you are using a preowned or second hand security key.
