How to Turn Off the Spell Checker on Android Phone Keyboard (Settings Tutorial)
To disable the spell checker on your Android phone keyboard, follow these steps:
Open Settings: Pull down the notification shade and tap the gear icon to access the settings menu.
Navigate to Language and Input: Depending on your device, you might find this option under different names. On stock Android, it’s labeled as “Spell Checker,” while Samsung devices refer to it as “Spelling Correction.”
Find the Spell Checker Option: Look for the setting related to spell checking. On Samsung Galaxy phones, it’s called “Spelling Correction,” and on Android Oreo, you’ll find it under the “Advanced” tab.
Enable or Disable the Setting: Slide the toggle to turn the spell checker on or off.
Test It Out: Once enabled, you can tap on a misspelled word in any text field to see a drop-down list of suggested replacements.
