How to Scan for Cable Channels on your LG TV (Auto Tuning)
To scan for both antenna and cable channels on your LG TV, follow these steps:
Scanning for Antenna Channels
Connect the Antenna: Make sure the antenna is securely connected to the Antenna/Cable In port on the back of your TV.
Turn on the TV.
Access Settings:
Press the Settings button on the LG remote.
Go to All Settings (or just Settings on some models).
Navigate to Channel Settings:
Select Channels or Channels and Inputs (or Broadcasting on some models).
Select Auto Tuning:
Choose Auto Tuning or Channel Tuning.
When prompted for the signal type, select Antenna or Air.
Start the Scan:
Select Start or Next to initiate the scan for antenna channels. Your TV will find and save all available over-the-air channels.
Finish and Save:
Once the scan completes, save the changes. Use the Channel Up/Down buttons to browse the available channels.
Scanning for Cable Channels
Connect the Cable: Ensure your cable line is connected to the Antenna/Cable In port on the back of the TV.
Turn on the TV.
Access Settings:
Press the Settings button on the remote.
Open All Settings (or Settings).
Navigate to Channel Settings:
Select Channels or Broadcasting.
Choose Auto Tuning:
Select Auto Tuning or Channel Tuning.
When asked for the signal type, select Cable.
Start the Scan:
Select Start or Next to begin scanning for cable channels. The TV will automatically find and save all available channels provided by your cable service.
Complete and Save:
After the scan completes, save the settings. You can now switch through the channels using the Channel Up/Down buttons.
