In this video I will show you how to uninstall your Microsoft Edge Browser from your Windows PC. You may have already attempted to uninstall Microsoft Edge but were unsuccessful. This is because Microsoft Edge comes preinstalled with Windows and therefore requires an unconventional method to uninstall. This video demonstration will therefore take your through the process of uninstalling Microsoft Edge through the Command Prompt (cmd) instead of "Add or remove programs" or "Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel".
Steps To Uninstall Microsoft Edge From Windows:
1. Navigate to the bottom left hand corner of your taskbar and left click on the search box
2. Type "Edge"
3. The best match from your search should be Microsoft Edge
4. Right click on it and choose "Open file path location"
5. Right click on the Microsoft Edge shortcut in the Programs folder and once again choose "Open file path location"
6. Double click on the Microsoft Edge version folder which should be a folder with a numerical name, such as "91.0.864.59"
7. Once done, double click on the "Installer" folder
8. You should now be in the Installer folder which contains two files: msedge_7z.data, and setup.exe. Highlight the file path location that you are currently in by left clicking on the file path for the folder.
9. Once done, replace the highlighted file path text with "cmd" and hit enter
10. Windows cmd will now open at the following file path location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\91.0.864.59\Installer
Note: 91.0.864.59 is the Microsoft Edge browser version and this will change as newer version of the browser are released. 91.0.864.59 was the latest browser version at the time of recording of this video.
11. Type the following command into Windows cmd:
setup --uninstall --force-uninstall --system-level
12: Hit "Enter" on your keyboard and Windows will immediately begin uninstalling Microsoft Edge.
Congratulations, you have successfully uninstalled Microsoft Edge from your Windows computer.
