How to use Android Phone as Webcam on PC with Wifi or USB (DroidCam Method)
0Using DroidCam, you can convert your Android phone into a high-quality webcam for your PC. It offers both Wi-Fi and USB connection options. Here's how to set it up:
Wi-Fi Method
Download the Apps: Install the DroidCam app from the Google Play Store on your Android phone and the DroidCam client on your Windows or Linux PC. You can find the official client download on the Dev47Apps website.
Connect to the Same Network: Make sure your Android phone and your PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Start the DroidCam Apps: Launch the DroidCam app on your phone. It will display a Wi-Fi IP and Port number. On your PC, open the DroidCam client, select the "Wi-Fi/LAN" connection method, and enter the IP and Port from your phone.
Initiate the Connection: Click the "Start" button on the PC client. The video feed from your phone's camera should now appear in the client window. You can then select "DroidCam" as your camera source in video conferencing applications like Zoom, Skype, or Discord.
USB Method
Enable USB Debugging: This is the most critical step for a USB connection. On your Android phone, go to Settings About Phone and tap on the "Build number" seven times to unlock Developer Options. Then, go back to Settings, find Developer Options, and enable USB debugging.
Connect the Devices: Use a quality USB cable to connect your phone to your PC.
Launch the DroidCam Apps: Open the DroidCam app on your phone. Then, on your PC, start the DroidCam client and select the "USB" connection option. The client should automatically detect your phone.
Start the Connection: Click "Start" on the PC client. The video stream from your phone's camera should now be available on your PC. The USB connection is generally more stable and provides a smoother video feed compared to Wi-Fi.
For a successful setup, it's recommended to keep both apps open and in the foreground during the initial connection. 🔌
