How to Turn ON Touch & Pointer Location on Android Phone (Best Method)
"Show touches" and "Pointer location" are helpful features in Android, especially for screen recording, presentations, or app development. Both are located within the hidden Developer options menu.
Here's the best method to enable them:
Step 1: Enable Developer Options
Open your phone's Settings app.
Scroll down and tap on About phone.
Look for the "Build number". On some devices (like Samsung), this might be under a "Software information" submenu.
Tap on the "Build number" seven times in quick succession. A message will appear telling you how many more taps are needed. After the seventh tap, you'll see a message that says "You are now a developer!" and you may be prompted to enter your PIN or password.
Step 2: Turn on Touch & Pointer Location
Go back to the main Settings menu.
You should now see a new option called "Developer options" at or near the bottom of the list. On some phones, it might be located under "System" or "Additional settings."
Tap on Developer options.
Scroll down until you find the "Input" section.
Within the Input section, you'll see two options:
Show touches: Toggling this on will display a small circle wherever you touch the screen.
Pointer location: Toggling this on will display a crosshair and a line that tracks the movement of your touch, along with detailed coordinate data at the top of the screen.
