How to Record your Screen on PC (Best Method)
3Windows comes with several built-in tools for screen recording, making it easy to capture your screen without downloading any extra software. The best method depends on your needs, but the Xbox Game Bar is generally the most straightforward option.
Method 1: Xbox Game Bar (Best for Gameplay and General Recording)
The Xbox Game Bar is a feature of Windows 10 and 11 designed for gamers, but it works for recording any application.
Press Windows Key + G to open the Game Bar overlay.
In the Capture widget, click the record button (a solid circle).
Alternatively, you can start and stop recording at any time by pressing Windows Key + Alt + R.
When you are finished, a notification will appear telling you where the video is saved. By default, recordings are saved to your Videos Captures folder.
Method 2: Snipping Tool (Best for Short Clips)
The Snipping Tool in Windows 11 has a video recording function, which is a great option for short, quick recordings.
Press Windows Key + Shift + R to open the Snipping Tool in video mode.
A toolbar will appear at the top of your screen, allowing you to drag a box to select the area you want to record.
Click the Start button to begin recording.
Click the Stop button when you are done. The video will open in a preview window, where you can save or share it.
