HP Stream Mini 200-010 Review and Benchmarks
HP Stream Mini 200-010 Review and Benchmarks. I finally get some time to test out the little $179 Stream Mini PC with some real world tests and a couple of gaming benchmarks (Gaming benchmarks at 11:33 ).
For a full Windows PC at $279 it really rocks. The dual core Haswell 2957U processor performs with about double the gaming power of the dual core Baytrail N2840 we've been game testing with.
Outside of the Zotac mini PCs (which often don't have an OS and are reported to have overheating problems), this looks to be the first complete tiny PC to be widely available to the consumer. Intel NUC is another brand you'll see but these are usually barebones and require an OS, Hard Drive and memory.. so this might just be a first (hopefully not the last).
Also, I should mention, I bought this at the Microsoft Online store and is the Signature Edition. Highly recommend buying these Signature Editions over retail store models for both laptops and desktops, as Microsoft doesn't allow all those CPU-robbing crapware apps to be installed. You get a nice, smooth running install of Windows with none of the garbage HP likes to put on their OEM versions you'd find in stores.
The specs for this little desktop are below:
Processor: Intel Celeron 2957U 1.40 GHz
Memory: 2GB DDR3L 1600 MHz (user upgradeable - 2 RAM slots)
Hard drive size: 32GB SATA3 M.2 SSD (~250Mb/s) (user upgradeable)
Operating system: Windows 8.1 with Bing, 64-bit
Media drive option: SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader
Audio: DTS Sound+
Video: Intel HD Graphics with shared graphics memory
Ports: 4 USB 3.0 • HDMI • DisplayPort • Headphone output/Microphone input combo • LAN (10/100/1000)
Wireless: 802.11b/g/n (Miracast enabled)
Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.0
Dimensions: 5.71 x 5.71 x 2.13 in
Weight: 1.19 lbs (0.53 kg)
All in all, a neat little package. Recommended at this price for a anything from a low power HTPC to even a tiny steam box (no complex games tho).
And as usual, more HP Stream Mini game testing on the way. Stay Tuned. :D
