Grand Theft Auto V on Nvidia 650 Ti Boost & Intel i3 - Test.
Grand Theft Auto V on Nvidia 650 Ti Boost & Intel i3 2120 @ 1080p. Nothing serious like most of my videos try to be. lol.. Just messing around with some settings on GTA V on this lower spec gaming rig. GTA V has some graphical quirks which show up as occasional stuttering - mostly when you're driving.
This can be corrected by having the Nvidia control panel override some of the game settings. I thought I had worked it out, but it does show up later in the video. Oddly, I can't show fraps - overlays do not show up on GTA V. Fraps doesn't, neither does the Steam overlay. There is a frame counter on Nvidia Shadowplay, but unfortunately, it doesn't record it! This is using DX11, high settings, FSAA on and VSYNC on. FPS range from 55 to 35 -depending on density of the world. For the most part though, the framerate tends to like to stick around 40-45 or so.
Dropping world detail, density, DX level and other settings will net you higher framerates - and doesn't take much away from the experience at all.. the game does scale nicely on less stong hardware, but if you've got a nice powerful card, it does take advantage of more complex options.. but even looking around youtube vids.. you don't lose much from the low settings to super-maxxed out on a titan. (4K resolution not included. lol).
I'd like to do an impressions video once I get it tweaked right.. a review of what is perhaps the greatest overall game ever (seriously) is pointless IMHO, but player impressions might be fun to do. ;-)
