Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited. Getting back into Elder Scrolls Online, now that it has gone BuyTo Play (B2P) and no longer has monthly subscription fees (unless you want to - which gets you more perks). ESO now has the Tamriel Unlimited designation behind it, reflecting its new model of B2P. It now gives you the freedom to play - or not to play - and you don't have to feel you need to get your monthly money's worth.. which is an incredibly good thing.

I was part of the ESO Beta awhile back, and that showed us a small representation of what the game was to be, but it was complete with a boatload of bugs too. So far, I haven't encountered any bugs, and I think my playtime is somewhere around 40+ hours. Which for an Elder Scrolls game is pretty impressive. lol

There are all the ES trappings which we enjoyed over the many years - Guilds (both the Elder Scrolls kind, and the make your own kind), crafting (armor, weapons, woodworking, clothing, etc), provisioning, enchanting, lorebooks, skillbooks, etc etc. And of course, it's ripe with Elder Scrolls lore. It absolutely oozes it. Which is a good thing in a game like this... there are so many diverse areas, scenery and cities, it really brings a lot of the ES Lore together nicely.

Personally, I find myself wanting to sit down for an hour or so and do a bit of quests or story progression, but you get so lost in it. that by the time you know it, you've been at it for 4-5 hours.

It seems like very much a single player experience however. The group dungeons are fun when you get a crew together, but because you deal with some autoleveling, you can spend some time trying to bring together a crew which are all at your level in order to hit a dungeon.

The storyline goes along the lines of Molag Bal is attempting to take over Tamriel (isn't a Daedric prince ALWAYS doing that? lol), and the closest thing you get to random community events (so far anyway, and I'm level 23 currently) are the Daedric Anchors which fall from the sky and spawn daedric minions you have to kill. Its in the video and because it takes place in a circular ring, you often feel like you're pointlessly running around rather than engaging in battle. In contrast, Guild Wars 2 (my other MMO game I play) has these long community events (from tasks, to giant champions to battle) and these have TONS of players all trying to throw everything at the event. Very fun, but ESO: Tamriel Unlimited misses the mark on the chance to have epic multiplayer battles in PvE.

I haven't played PvP yet - I'm still heavily enjoying questing and discovering.. the sights and diversity of the different areas I find very enjoyable.

Anyway.. mini review of the Game from what I've played so far.
Best place to buy is GreenManGaming.com as they have a VIP program which knocks about 23% off the games in their VIP section. Signing up as a VIP is free.. they also have a 20% off coupon pretty much all the time... meaning all the games are 22% off what you'll pay at Steam. They send you an activation code for Steam games btw.

Thanks for watching! :D
