Ice Age : Dawn of the Dinosaurs the Video Game Gameplay chapter 9 - Flower Power
2Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (or Ice Age 3) is a video game based on the movie with the same name. It was released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC by Activision on June 30, 2009, 1 day before the movie's release. It is the sequel to the Ice Age 2 video game.
Most of the cast from the movie voiced the characters in the game, with the exceptions of Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, and Sean William Scott.
The game allows the player to take control of Manny, Sid, Diego, Scrat, Scratte, and Buck as you take on or run away from dangerous dinosaurs, roll an egg to safety, the chase for your beloved acorn, and explore caves and jungles over fifteen levels. However, some characters are just for tiny parts in the game, like Manny and Diego. The main character in the game is Buck. There are eight mini-games to play either in single-player mode or with friends in multiplayer and get things from Fast Tony. In multiplayer mode, you can play as Mini-sloths and Baby Dinos. There are three different bosses in the game: Ankylosaurus, Chasmosaurus, and Rudy.
Buck is talking to his statue when he hears a scream: it's Ellie! Buck climbs up a vine to go up a small relief. Afterward, he has to cling to a rock to go on the other side of the relief. The new enemies in this level are spitting plants and carnivorous Venus plants, defeat them if he doesn't want to be eaten. In case you wonder, if you intentionally let yourself be caught by the Venus plant...there will be a Quick Time Event for Buck to escape from its mouth. After crossing a gallery, he finds himself in front of a huge tree. He has to find a way inside it but it won't be as easy as it seems because he has to defeat some troodons before he could continue. In the middle of climbing, there are several dead red leaves from afar but to use those leaves, he needs to find a new arm nearby that could bring those leaves back to life: The Liquid Spray. Unlike most armaments, The Liquid Spray is the only weapon that can only be used to solve puzzles. There are two kinds of liquid based on their color for the Liquid Spray: blue liquid brings dead leaves back to life that Buck can use as a platform to jump on while orange stops the red flowers from producing a wall of gas that is blocking Buck's path. With the Liquid Spray, he must reload the liquid spray in the stump filled with blue liquid as it has no ammo after he obtained it to spray those dead leaves to get back to the base of the tree and water the rest of the leaves to enter the tree. Inside, he has to cross a long vine to reach the top of the tree, but he finds himself face to face to a hornet's hive at the end. He has to destroy the gigantic hive while defeating the bees spawn from it to continue. Afterward, he has to slide into a long vine and defeat some dinosaurs upon landing. There are red flowers blocking the way but the orang liquid should stop the gas produced by those flowers. Be ready for a boss fight after defeating dragonflies and some dinosaurs before spawning the first boss: Ankylosaurus. As a boss, Ankylosaurus has a high bar of HP but you can cut a large amount by using those Lychees Bomb on it with a lock-on from afar. When attacked, the Ankylosaurus will charge toward Buck at short range before it stops with a brake slide. Keep in mind that the bosses in this game always chase the character you controlled once it has low HP (Starts chasing when the half HP is dark green)
