2Welcome to Steins Gate, a Visual Novel within the Science Adventure's series of Visual Novels. Released originally in 2009, remastered on Steam for release in September 2016.
We follow along the story of a mad scientist named Rintarō Okabe (nickname Hōōin Kyōma) and his long time friend Mayuri Shiina. The search for the IBN 5100, still rings around in mystery of how such a device can exist near us, or its programming abilities to exploit the tainting experiments that they've done (I think we know what they refer to as the Jellyman's Report).
The object that crashed on the rooftop is a bizarre thing that's occurred since the start of this series, Kurisu herself is intrigued by this as she and Rintaro have another argument about the concept of time travel, both smart and mad, they love to exploit one another with the smallest of weaknesses they have.
