You can choose from four unique hunters: a hammer-wielding ice magician, a ranger who ignites arrows, an illusionist, or a sorceress who summons a ghost from her body. After selecting your hunter, you'll defend the city of Inholm against waves of subterranean enemies sent by a menacing snake. Whether playing solo or teaming up with three friends, expect a chaotic, action-packed experience reminiscent of Castle Crashers or Streets of Rage—just keep attacking until the dust settles.
While the combat system is fresh and offers diverse strategic options, it suffers from slow, clunky controls, especially when using a gamepad (which is poorly implemented), leaving you stuck with the less intuitive mouse/keyboard setup. The game feels more like an adventure title than a traditional beat 'em up, and although the RPG elements improve after an hour of gameplay, the slow start is a drawback.
On the positive side, the graphics and sound are impressive, and the game's story shows promise. The environments are detailed, providing an enjoyable exploration experience. Although the combat and controls need significant refinement, Immortal Hunters has potential, and with continued development, it could deliver a much better experience.
