Infinite Metal Blade and More in Mega Man 2 (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
8,393In this episode of A Wild Glitch Appears! some idiot named KarmaJolt explains an exploit in Mega Man 2 that allows Mega Man to use certain powers infinitely.
In Mega Man 2 for the NES (as well as other ported versions) you can infinitely use Quick Boomerang, Metal Blade, and Bubble Lead without spending any weapon energy.
Your weapon energy for the Quick Boomerang ability only diminishes on every 8th boomerang you shoot. However, if you pause the game with the Start button before shooting the 8th boomerang, you can shoot up to seven more boomerangs before your weapon energy begins to drain. In other words, if you pause the game every time you shoot seven or fewer Quick Boomerangs, you can shoot up to seven more Quick Boomerangs without losing any weapon energy. This trick can be abused for multiple consecutive instances, theoretically granting you infinite Quick Boomerang, as long as you have at least 1 weapon energy.
Since Metal Blade only uses weapon energy on every 4th use, you can throw up to three Metal Blades, pause the game, then throw up to three more. So as long as you pause the game after throwing three or fewer Metal Blades, you will never run out of Metal Blade energy.
Furthermore, Bubble Lead only spends one weapon energy point every time you shoot it twice. So if you pause the game after every single use of Bubble Lead, you will never run out. This means you can defeat Dr. Wily's final form (the final boss) with only a single point of weapon energy for Bubble Lead, which I still am not sure how to pronounce. Just pause the game every time you shoot it and you won't run out!
This is probably one of the easiest and most useful Mega Man 2 glitches.
