Very different gameplay .. extra early colony ship perk(space fervor instead of the usal must pick stellar navigators) and overmining (vs space rush) culture perks make sense here !! (your fleet will move like constipated molasses without leader speed skill and stellar navigators)
Hugely powerful bonus at terrible cost (no heroes , bad in fleet combat (lose uber hero dodge boost), terrible at even basic ruins exploration, no operations flood of SSP, no uber early game secondary skills for extra science/culture/minor race survey..no leader economic skills , no extra fleet speed, no extra ship XP.. - HUGE CHUNK OF GAME MISSING)
Building fewer outposts earlier might? make AIs less likely to DOW you ? Had middle map start and had peace for first 150 turns ?
But plopping a colony ship past turn 150 and terraforming, building gravity or space mirror and leveling infrastructure in the same turn ! IS NICE (+ 3.3 k production from capital)
If you can get your hands on a huge ultra rich planet to make your capital .. 30% of that production is flat added to ALL your other colonies .. (had 3+k production added late game with a huge POOR capital and 34 colonies.. Moltars snagged my Huge ultra rich 2 turns out from my colony ship !)
