Small starting world + huge Ultra poor colony (terraform 1) + medium belt + boosted research relics from evolution opener(relics of the past) were enough for me to get the ~T90 polaris miniaturization 2 + few cruisers REQUIRED to stay alive between aggressive Kaek and Draguul (also had humans and Moltars hemming me in but they had other issues with Draguul, Sulak and Palaceans) .. (didn't get access to that many early ruins with so many neighbors .. )
Testament to the core kit strength + evolution opener (relics of the past: eventually * 1.55 to ALL research with 6x Datacores) I managed to survive and eventually take over most of Kaek territory (leaderless fleets did help their cause !) (draguul no retreat suicide tactics didn't help them either ! ) (shouldn't have have stopped early left him with 2 ruin planets) ..

Once peace was reached : giving spirts allows GREAT GOLD to Culture conversion with extra faction relations modifiers on top ! So almost immediately into Spiritual Awakening which is kind of NUTS during the enforced peace time once enough territory has been grabbed .. *1.6 Production efficiency empire wide , *1.8 (at time of final vote) culture efficiency (with 2 ruins foolishly left on the table for broken Kaek) .. And all the money gifting .. will lead to alliances (votes & places to plant more colonies ...)

Game changing in strong useful ways evolution choices ! (at least the left bracket)

On re-watch .. lack of pressurized domes on the first colony hurt to watch
