Konami recently released a new Contra game which was subtitled “Operation Galuga”. The demo was fun, but it didn’t seem right to include a Konami game on a channel that’s meant to be focusing on indie games (obviously). So instead of Operation Galuga, how about a video of a Contra-inspired game that actually comes pretty damn close to capturing the magic of the franchise that it’s based on?
As you'll quickly surmise from this video, Iron Meat does an excellent job of capturing the look and feel of Contra but with one major visual difference that's pretty easy to spot (hint: there's a lot of blood!). The full game also features a bunch of unlockable skins to boost replay value, as well as the expected Co-op Mode.
After seeing how fun and polished the demo is, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the full game when it launches later this year.
