UNDEFEATED (which must always be written in all caps to convey epicness, at least in my opinion) started out as a student game before being released on Steam as a free product that anyone can download. It also serves as a demo for the studio’s next game, UNDEFEATED: Genesis (which is either a prequel or sequel to this one). And now that they’ve fixed the issue that was preventing me from playing the game (ie. it was crashing every 30 seconds), I’ve finally had a chance to play it properly and make a video of it.

Obviously a student game will have severe limitations in terms of content and depth, but I had a go at making this video of UNDEFEATED as varied and visually interesting as possible. First I did some of the random events, then I did a movement challenge where you fly through rings (if you know anything about N64 games or videogame memes then you’ll know EXACTLY why I had to record myself ‘solving this maze’), and then I re-did one of the game’s early boss battles. Also, I accidentally unlocked something via the ‘hero points’ system so there’s that too.

As the video hopefully demonstrates, the whole point of this game is to recreate the experience of being Superman… and while the game is quite limited in it’s scope (remember that it’s free), I have to admit that it does a pretty damn good job of making you feel like the iconic superhero in it’s own charming way.

UNDEFEATED is a fun way to waste a few minutes here and there, and it's got me looking forward to the full-scale prequel/sequel too!
