About this video: This is my in-depth review of the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Edition! I have used this keyboard for years, and because of that, I think this review will have a bit of a different perspective when compared to the other reviews out there. I discuss some of the great things and bad things about the Razer Blackwidow that I have come to notice over 4+ years of experience using it!
One of the main things that I hate about the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate is that it is impossible to keep clean. No matter what you try to do, this keyboard will keep fingerprints, oil, and every kind of grim you throw at it on it. For this video, I spent 3 hours trying to get the keyboard as clean as possible only to give up as it just wasn't working I constantly had to keep wiping away fingerprints, and it became impossible!
Now, I don't completely hate this keyboard though. I have owned it for 5 years after all. My overall favorite thinga bout this keyboard is the incredible feel of the Razer green switches. These things feel absolutely freaking incredible, and I love the sound they make every single time I press them. This video actually features a Razer green switch sound test on the Blackwidow Ultimate, and you can hear the awesome sound that this keyboard makes with every keystroke.
Something else to mention here is that this is the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 Edition. There has been an updated 2016 edition released. The updates to the Razer Blackwidow 2016 edition actually address some of the issues I have with this keyboard so you may want to check that out if the issues that I'm experiencing turn you off from purchasing this keyboard.
There isn't much that bothers me about the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate though, and I would purchase another one in a heartbeat if mine stopped working today. This is by far one of the best bang-for-your-buck gaming mechanical keyboards out there, and with its programmable keys for micros or easier one-handed keyboard access, the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate edition is incredible.
