James Gunn confirms Guardians Vol. 3 will be “the last time people will see this team”
0Filming is currently underway for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, and we’ve heard little in the way of updates since filming began.
A while back, James Gunn explained that Guardians 3 would be the last time we saw this version of the team together.
Now, Gunn has reiterated his comments, which seems to cement the fate of at least some of the beloved Guardians.
It doesn’t necessarily mean anyone is going to die, but rather they are going to retire their duties as Guardians.
Also, in the comics, the Guardians team has had many iterations, so it seems likely that the team would continue into the future, just with a different line-up.
The Guardian most touted to leave the franchise is Dave Bautista’s Drax The Destroyer, as other characters like Groot & Rocket require minimal commitment from Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper respectively.
