Part of what's attractive about Jet X2O is that it's a very fluid game (heh). The tracks aren't just boring straight lines, you're zigging and zagging across the water, and even in the air, you're free to go from any 1 trick to any other trick while also adding flips and barrel rolls in throughout. It's wonderful being able to throw in an extra flip and an extra tweak if you think you have the time to do so before you land, and it feel really cool to pull off some crazy combo and watch your 'megameter' soar.

Jet X2O, once you're up to expert mode, is also a game about learning its exploits. Which trick combos can you do to quickly increase your trick multiplier? What is most efficient? How do I keep my boost up? So, I wanted to try to ease you in across video 1 with some of the things I do to stay ahead and start getting a lot of points. On Amateur and Pro, you can do 1 or 2 tricks per jump with a flip/barrel roll and be good, but on expert you need to throw a lot of tricks in to get your boost bar up immediately and then pull down a lot of points each jump. Combos like the Pendulum to Tomahawk back to Pendulum, or Cordova to Cliffhanger and back, or even just CanCan to NacNac and back are good because their button combos only differ slightly. Also, consider that once you fill your boost bar up to hit mega mode, that's over a third of your boost bar you get that can be refilled with any trick or any buoy as long as you don't dip into the rest of your boost reserves. So, instead of boosting forward constantly and dealing with low boost between jumps, leave enough in the tank so that going through a boost buoy or doing a quick flip off a drop gets you all of the mega mode boost. Consider that amount your free boost, and only use the rest when you're going for a jump you know you can refill on or you're heading for the finish line.

Onto Taylor Jordan: He's a very well-rounded character that has a surprising trick ability and the ability to quickly do a NacNac or CanCan to increase your multiplier. His signature tricks are very well-rounded too, with some holdable tricks as well as a medium-length trick and also a long trick worth almost 20,000 base points. The Sting Ray should certainly be saved for big jumps, and if you can flip through it or throw in a quick short trick at the very end, that's an extra 10,000 points you'll get with each addition. While the Renegade craft does start with semi-low handling, to me it's not unmanageable and may in fact be better suited to some people's style who want to throw themselves into a specific line/path and don't want to deal with too much over-correcting and adjusting back and forth.

Slicstream: As the first level, it's the 'simplest' per se and the alternate paths don't stray far from the base one. You will find larger ramps and more trick opportunities on the shortcut paths while also cutting out a turn here, an S-curve there, etc... so it's definitely worth scoping out. The ending section feels a bit lame no matter what, and if you're behind the AI in that final flat area, they'll probably boost the whole way through and stay ahead of you to the finish line. You need to get in front of them and lead that final section.
