Turrican 3 (Amiga) Playthrough / It's time to crown your pledge. Trilogy End ... for sure this time.
Turrican 3 (1993) from the Kaiko/Neon studio is the final part of a trilogy released on the Amiga. Many people consider this part to be the black sheep of the series. One of the reasons was that the father of the series, Manfred Trenz, did not participate in its production. Direction taken by the new developers tipped the scales toward the console experience. That is, on refined linear levels where it's hard to get lost compared to the previous two parts where the focus was largely on exploration. Difficulty level is also downright trivial compared to the predecessors. On normal it's really hard to see the Game Over sign. So I understand that many may not have been satisfied with this turn of events. But I personally believe that this was the right track for the evolution of the series. On top of that, the legendary Chris Huelsbeck returned to the third installment as composer. So there is no need to worry about the music because it is still at a high level. The game is now definitely more dynamic and shooting-oriented. Only thing I can't understand is why the iconic laser was removed in favor of a grappling hook, which for all intents and purposes, that dynamism is being disrupted. Well, it was an average idea, but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a good game. And I heartily recommend it to everyone.
