The Terminator (Sega CD) Playthrough / Come with me if you want to live !!
The Terminator (1993) developed by Virgin Software. Is without a doubt ,the best 2D Terminator game out there. Why ? Because the counterparts either are below average or just suck hard. And here we have an exception to the rule and an almost perfect adaptation based on the movie. Almost perfect because in-game story videos are represented by very poor quality FMW interludes cut straight from the movie. Text only occurs in the intro and is so subtle that people who haven't seen the movie may not know what it's all about. Literally the plot is presented in 2-3 short sentences. Nowhere does it say who we are playing or who or what we are saving. The handling of the storyline is the biggest issue with this game , a total pixelated chaos that the player has to interpret on his own. And here the downsides ends. Graphically the game presents itself very nicely both character sprites and backgrounds are very nicely done. Musically, it is a masterpiece and probably one of the best original soundtracks for a game based on the film...... I literally dissolved here with delight. Gameplay-wise it's also very good, admittedly the controls aren't as intuitive as at least in Contra, but they do the job. Shooting is fun and jumping is on point. What more could you want? If these videos were made on the game engine or simply drawn the game would be almost perfect. Definitely a hidden gem.
