This has to be one of my most absurd ideas yet.

The conceit of the run can be boiled down to "Seven Killers, Seven Chapters, Seven Versions." There are seven official versions of Killer7, and I finally obtained them all earlier this year. I wanted to do something that made use of the full set, and I remembered that the game has seven chapters. Being the person I am, I decided to make a run of it, on the special day of 7/7/21.

Rather than typing out all of the details, I strongly recommend looking at the FAQ (https://tinyurl.com/u8pmxk8a), but to touch on the most important bits: It's (obviously) not a real speed run category, the version I'm running at any given time can be seen on the split names, multi-part chapters are done with a single version, and the JP/PAL PS2 versions are on emulator out of necessity.

All in all, this run went remarkably well. In preparation, I spent a lot of time playing through all of the versions in some capacity, making specific save files along the way. As you can imagine, switching between different versions with their own differences is pretty mind-bending, and in many ways, it was a test of how well I actually knew the game in its different forms. While I had to improvise a in few sections (particularly on PS2), things went rather smoothly, and I even managed to transition between versions without too much hassle. The only minor hitch was some OBS encoding issues; at the end of Cloudman and in the middle of Smile, the footage lags for a few moments.

I definitely would consider doing this run again (maybe on the next 7/7), but I want to play all of the versions on actual hardware, without emulation, and I'm working on making that possible. This is another one of those crazy-enough-to-work ideas that I can't believe I pulled off. I'm really excited that the Killer777 run worked out, and I hope you all enjoy it.
