Knuckle Bash (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough / True masculinity can solve all problems.
Knuckle Bash (1993) by Taoplan is unusual beat'em up created in the convention of arena fighter or boss rush. It is not here as in the classic counterparts of the genre where we have to go through the entire scrolled level. Instead, we are thrown into small areas along with enemies, which we have to eliminate in order to move to the next one. The characters we will play are stereotypical muscle men mixed with elements of pop culture. There's a pumped-up Elvis, a player playing American photball, a ninja, a luchador and one normal guy. Well it is an interesting juxtaposition to say the least, I won't hide it. The point here is more or less that these guys are fighting to make sure that corruption does not prevail in the wrestling world. Graphically the game looks very decent , sprites are large and very detailed on top of the excellent animation. And this applies not only to the heroes of the game but even our opponents. The arenas, despite the fact that they are quite small, are pleasing to the eye and contain some objects that we can destroy in the heat of battle. The soundtrack is so specific that it's hard to forget it..... because it's hard to compare it to anything. It seems to be kitschy to the extreme, but it fits what is happening on the screen. The combat system is rather standard, but you have to admit that beating up opponents is a lot of fun. We have never even heard of this game, and it was on our list quite spontaneously, but we do not regret that we had a lot of fun with it. The game is definitely worth recommending as long as you don't have a problem with overexposing masculinity.
