Krazy Ivan (PS1) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Psygnosis's 1996 mech robot war sim for the Sony PlayStation, Krazy Ivan.
Played on the normal difficulty level.
Wow, this is pretty out there. At first glance of game-play it looks a lot like MechWarrior of GunGriffon, but this throws a whole Cold War-era plot into the mix - from the perspective of the Russians (...Hunt for Red October, maybe? The name along implies a lot).
It plays extremely smoothly and isn't too bad to get used too, though you'll find yourself wishing for analogue support - this predates the original Dual Shock controller by a couple of years.
The FMV sequences, both in cutscenes and in-game when superimposed over a corner of your screen (usually the blonde woman giving you advice on your objective) are awesomely over acted and campy, and the graphics are nice and colorful. It feels very much so like an early 32-bit era game, and its general simplicity makes it easy to get into it quickly - a godsend for these types of games.
