I'm thinking of adding a few mods to this series (Kerbol Plus, USILife Support, Kerbal Inventory System). Let me know in the comments what you think about that.

Today, using two SSTOs similar to the MSL launcher, I send GSSat and the Gilly Unmanned Lander on an Eve encounter trajectory. The GSSat uses an ion thruster while the Lander is all chemical rockets. Both probes do their own correction burns, braking maneuvers, and Gilly encounters. The end result is a Narrow-band scanner in orbit with a small utility lander on the surface in Gilly's Midlands Biome. As Gilly is a highly possible target for colonization, these two machines will help pave the way for future exploration of the moon.
