A larger Class C Asteroid was spotted in a highly elliptical orbit, extending from 10km above the atmosphere to twice as far as Minmus. It probably got put there by a Munar gravity assist when the rock flew by.
In order to test machines that will be used later on Dres, and take advantage of the 34 tons of fuel (ore) already in orbit, this episode involves sending the ARD-1 (Asteroid Redirect Device) to the asteroid. ARD-1 is meant to only move asteroids while the yet to be designed ARD-2 will extract resources from asteroids. ARD-1 uses two ion hall effect thrusters with a single large solar panel to rendezvous with the highly inclined orbit of the asteroid and move it to a safer, easier to reach orbit.
Thanks for your input on the addon decision, for now, this series will stay STOCK.
Next time, the CEV (a.k.a. Space Bus) will launch to Minmus and attempt to perform a manned inspection of the failed Osprey Mining Probe.
