Hello and welcome to KSP: Missions With Bob! In this new series I will be assigning missions to the crew of the doughty Badger-Class light freighter Skyfarer. Jebediah Kerman is the captain of an independent space freighter operation, and to pay their bills they will need to rescue stranded spacecraft, pick up valuable and historical space junk off various celestial bodies, and generally jump through whatever hoops the job demands. First Mate Bill Kerman will be sitting there looking pretty, and Mechanic Bob Kerman will be the chief engineer of the vessel and EVA specialist.

In other words, Bob will do all the actual work while Bill and Jeb sit in the cockpit eating Fritos. ;)

Aside from what happens behind the scenes (launching the Skyfarer and props, Skyfarer testing, getting the Skyfarer to whatever destination is needed for the next episode), there will be no quickloads. If they have a disabled ship, they will have to be rescued. If they die, I guess I will have to start over. ;)

The missions take place against the backdrop of a pre-made science fictional world of space stations and moon bases and other space vessels and even an asteroid base. So you won't see me moving the props around for the next episode, you will just see the Skyfarer landing at the necessary Mun base or whatever. The idea generally was inspired by the short-lived TV series Firefly in that there is an independent space freighter trying to make a living (and keep us amused). They won't be breaking the law and running from the Feds however... though I might put that twist in there at some point. ;)
