In this episode we try out the DRAkTEC Solar Sails mod by Tanya Sapien. I initially want to try out the solar sail regatta as appeared in the short story "Sunjammer" (AKA The Wind From The Sun) by Arthur C. Clarke, but it appears that my mastery of the purely solar sail aspect of the mod is not quite where it needs to be, and also the sails can act very strangely sometimes in KSP. Nevertheless, it is a mod that I have been looking for someone to make for a long time, and hopefully someone will devote some TLC to fine-tuning the mod in the future.

Probably the next episode to come out will be the first KSP: Missions With Bob episode, which I talk about briefly in the video.

Note that the photonic engine application of the mod (as versus simply using solar sails alone as propulsion) is VERY cheaty, as in, you can get respectable thrust without using any fuel at all. The photonic engines are great fun to play with, but super OP. Star Trek tech basically, not something that will appear at the launchpad at Kennedy anytime soon.
