Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

The team arrives back in the throne room to find it occupied by one very injured and delirious Ortas. He's so determined to protect his people that he'll even challenge the party to combat in his weakened state.

For being in a weakened state, Ortas sure can put up a fight. Not as annoying to deal with as Castor or even the Viviones were though. He only has one physical move, his regular attack. The main bulk of his power stems from two moves, Sealing & Eternal Noctum.

Sealing hits a target for a good chunk of damage while inflicting poison, enfeeble, and silence. All three ailments can be removed with a casting of Treatment so that's no biggie.

As for Eternal Noctum, it's about on par with Sealing damage wise, but it's dark elemental and hits the entire party. No ailment trickery here though.

Ortas is the first main story boss to break the five digit hp barrier at 10k hp. Rather impressive in his condition.

There's not much to say about how the fight goes. I had three pieces of gear that resisted or otherwise made the wearer immune to dark (two Smoke Mirrors and the Absorbing Jacket) so Eternal Noctum wasn't that much of a concern. Doubly so for Sealing when anyone can get rid of the ailments it inflicts if I wanted to.

As for a steal, it's very very important you steal from Ortas. He carries the game's first Key Tablet III, meaning one character now can have all five of their spellcard slots open. Obviously, this is going right to Lorenza when possible.

Upon kicking off, Ortas drops the Lightbringer, a new weapon for Zawu. He then kicks off into the afterlife for good after the battles concludes once he says a few more things (and decides Lorenza's capable enough of protecting his people, that too).

Back with Tiamat's battle, she's still holding her ground against the Omega Trio, but she's definitely showing signs of weakness, a fact Castor points out when he arrives on the scene. Castor then makes a bold statement...he wants Tiamat to join his crew, surprising his team in the process. Clearly he wants power at this point, doesn't he?

Back in the throne room, the situation seems to be calming down, but there's another potential hurdle to overcome...Barasur is going to step down as elder and wants Lorenza to take his spot. It's a tough choice for her to make, one that's not going to be made overnight as the party gets some well deserved rest.

The next morning, there's some commotion as Hilbert, Matilda, and Thorve head downstairs. As they do, they find Moritz and his crew in the hallway with some sad news...the Brunhild got smashed to pieces due to the earthquakes that were occurring, causing a tidal wave to rise and take out the ship. Luckily they were saved, right?

That's when a guard comes in with a message. Evidently Wilhelm wants to speak the party in Herzog, but about what, he does not say. That would be nice...except our ship's been sunk.

Luckily, the Havali, by some divine luck or whatever, built a ship themselves, but never utilized it. With a good word put in by Lorenza I'm sure, Moritz gets to command that ship...and what a beauty it'll be.

First though, the team goes to tell Lorenza of their plans. Realizing she's not yet ready to take command of the role of Havali elder since she wants to ensure the world's at peace, she decides to stay on board with the party.

As for where to go to claim the new ride, it's southeast of the weapon shop. The party does run into Zawu on the way out and, after some pleading from her and realizing she really wants to help out Castor, she gets to stay with the team as well. Good thing too because I'm going to need her for the next dungeon I want to visit.

Once you gain control of your new ship, the aptly named Brunhild II, you can take it out for a spin...and what a treat it is. It's MUCH faster than the previous version and also has the added ability to sail over land. It still requires you to find a beach to get on to land with though so this upgrade only allows access to a pair of new areas.

First, if you head to Nolan Vale and follow the shoreline east, you'll eventually run into another key tower. Inaccessible for now and will be until the very end of the game.

If you keep going on the shoreline, you'll see a way to cut north and go to a new town, Serinal Port. You can't get into the area just yet, but there is a new weapon shop you can take a look at. Weapons are insanely expensive as usual, but they're a very nice upgrade from what you got if you have funds to spare.

The last place to take a look at resides in the southwest portion of the map, south of the Gate to Elysium. This is the Tower of Sacrifice and I'll be diving into it next time.
