Last Scenario is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. A rather typical kind of rpg, but with enough twists and an interesting story to make the journey well worth taking.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Everyone's geared up so it's time to go into another tower at a level lower than one would expect.

Even before getting into the main entrance, there's a puzzle to deal with. At the northern end of the area are four stacks of boxes, each stack having a pillar in front that can be moved. You'll need to place the pillar a certain number of squares away from the stack with the open spots to the immediate south of each of those stacks being where the count should begin. From left to right, the pillars should be 3, 5, 1, and 2 squares away from the top. Do this and the tower opens.

Surprisingly enough, the enemies are manageable to deal with at my lower levels. They hit like freight trains in some cases for sure, sometimes even necessitating a use of Guardian to withstand the punishment, but it's better than how vicious the previous tower's enemies were. Even so, bring chaos protection for everyone since the Discord Bugs can inflict that via their normal attack.

Once again, there's a new pillar gimmick in play for this tower. This time, there'll be small pillars that can be lifted and placed in a different spot. The only catch is that you can't move when you lift one of these pillars.

Also like the other towers, there's a couple staircases leading to a pillar puzzle on each side and a switch in the room beyond. You'll need to hit both switches to unlock the door in the main hallway. Do check behind both switches because there's some nice treasure there, a Healing Orb & Dual Strike spellcard.

Once the main hallway door is unlocked, it's a surprisingly straight shot all the way to the save point. You do want to snag the one chest in the large pillar puzzle room though as it contains the Medicine spellcard. Costs 30 mp to purge all status ailments from a target which is very very nice. Its crisis ability is M-Renew, costing 115 mp to grant the regen status to the entire party.

After saving, the usual gearing up for the boss battle commences. Most importantly, Lorenza steps out and Zawu takes her place. Everyone has some form of chaos protection on as well.

North of the save point is the usual locked door and the Key of Sacrifice which needs to be knocked down a few notches in battle.

Nothing special needs to be said about the Key of Sacrifice as its attack pattern is the same as the previous keys. Its ailment inflicting waves are Disruptive Wave which inflicts chaos and Deafening Wave which inflicts silence. The former is blocked with everyone's chaos immunizing gear and the latter is blocked by Hilbert & Zawu's Swirling Rings. Matilda can easily prep a Voice Box to use on either herself or Ethan since she's slower than the boss (and Lorenza too for reference which is the main reason Zawu took her place).

The physicals are likewise no different, but they do quite a bit more damage, easily enough to one hit kill Zawu and two hit anyone else without P-Shields active.

The boss carries a staggering 23.5k hp to chew through. It's gonna be a long fight if you came here early like me.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to ALWAYS have someone capable of casting Guardian. The physicals & Spinning Attack are going to be far too powerful to keep up with otherwise. The ailment inflicting waves do a pretty hefty 450-500 damage to the party before M-Shields, but two Gold Dusts will remedy most of that damage no problem.

As with the last key, don't be shy about breaking out your Soul Elixirs or Healing/Sacred Orbs if the situation goes south quickly. Only had to burn one Soul Elixir on my end.

Before the fight ends, make sure to steal from the boss to get a Sacrificial Dress. It's a pretty good mage armor that boosts intelligence by 16 and makes the wearer immune to silence. Lorenza is going to be equipping this and not taking it off for a long time.

After claiming your third key, you can go loot the unlocked treasure room. The rewards are a Blessed Armour, Strength Capsule, Key Tablet III, and two new spellcards.

The first new spellcard is Protect. Costs 120 mp to make one ally immune to all status effects or, for 200 mp, be invoked as the crisis ability M-Protect to provide the effect to all allies. The catch though is that all status effects includes beneficial ones so you'll want to make sure you have any of those type of effects in place before casting Protect/M-Protect.

The other new spellcard, X-Shield, is going to be a permanent fixture on either Hilbert or Ethan from here on out. Costs 100 mp to grant both kinds of damage reducing shields for an ally. Its crisis ability, Mega Shield, does the same thing, but targets the entire party for 125 mp.

More main story shenanigans next time!
