After doing some chores at our base, we head towards the dark forest where we end up in the caves beneath! We find some copper here, but the sounds of mobs makes us curious. Digging around the area, we uncover even more caves, and eventually find another abandoned mineshaft and a ravine!

Returning to our base, we harvest some honeycomb and begin to keep our items! We rename another name tag on the anvil and collect the dried kelp from the furnaces. Then, we mine some raw copper from the copper ore blocks with our Fortune pickaxe, before smelting the raw copper in the furnaces!

Intending to go for some exploration, we pick up our large map! After emptying our Shulker boxes, we notice that the copper ingots are done! We count the number of missing blocks around the second-floor window at the back. Then, we craft some cut copper to fill in the gaps!

Noticing that our cut copper slab has oxidised to a weathered slab, we replace it with a fresh new one, and add the weathered slab to our collection of copper blocks! After sleeping for the night, we get up to the second floor again to place the cut copper blocks around the back window.

We cross the river to take a look at the base from afar! Seeing some caves on the ground, we walk around the area to explore before entering the dark underground section. Seems like many hostile monsters have spawned here since it is so close to our base!

At a dead end, we hear many zombies through the wall! We mine in the direction of the noises and eventually find another cave. This cave does not seem very big, but it has a decent amount of copper ore which we need for the construction of the base!

We mine a vein of copper before looking around for more. However, we hear zombie noises again! We mine upwards to expose another vein of copper, eventually breaking into a third unlit cave that seems to be under the river, judging by the sandstone on the ceiling.

This cave seems to be part of a larger system! We bring out our map to check our location on the surface as we explore. Finding an abandoned mineshaft, we begin to realise that lighting up the caves would not be as easy as we had originally thought!

The mineshaft cuts through a ravine! We try our best to light up some of the smaller sections before we leave. It seems like we are currently under the dark forest, which is not too close to our base anyway! Strangely, it seems to be eerily quiet for a place that looks so dangerous.

On the floor of the ravine, two creepers emerge from the shadows! They are accompanied by a baby zombie. I guess we might have spoken a little too soon! We hear more zombies in the walls around us. After slaying a few, we pack our items in a Shulker box before making a hasty retreat!

Retracing our steps, we see an unexplored branch going off to the side! We decide to venture within to light it up, and fortunately, the only mob here is a harmless bat! We mine some of the copper ore embedded along the walls of the caves.

Our Minecraft day did not go as planned, but that's okay! Instead of exploring the surface with the help of our map, we explored the underground and hopefully made the area around our base a little safer. We place down more torches in the caves, and sleep before swimming out into the river!

In the dark forest, there are still many zombies and skeletons! We find another small cave here, which we also light up with our torches. A hole in the centre of a large room leads down to a dead end. After lighting up the dark areas, we fly out into the sky and return to our chests!

Again, we store our items in the chests! In our moss garden, our sweet berry bush has matured but it looks a little odd amongst the yellowish-green moss blocks, so we decide to remove it. With all the mineshafts that we have discovered, our chests are filling up with oak planks and oak fences!

After harvesting some glow berries, we break the scaffolding tower in front of the base before making a tower of coal ore! This tower is just to facilitate the gathering of coal with our Fortune pickaxe, however. We also use the experience gained from mining the coal ore to mend our tools!

Finding a sheep in the forest as we collect more honeycomb, we use a lead to lure it into our sheep pen! On the way, we notice that a bee is flying into a birch tree trunk. We remove some logs so the bee can get to the cornflower! We shear the sheep before ending the episode at the back of the base.
