If you want to try Arch Linux, but without having to go through the installation process, which for Linux beginners can be tricky or if you prefer to save some time in the process, the good news is that there is a new Linux distribution that can help you with that.

The Laxer OS is the distribution I will talk about in this article and it can be a good recommendation for anyone who wants to try Arch Linux without having to go through the traditional installation process.

Of course, many will say, for this there are Manjaro, Arco Linux, etc., etc. For these, I think it is worth trying the system so that you can get to know it and also see if it is stable enough that your environment can work on it.

The test is valid for the simple reason that its developers still label the distribution as a “semi-stable” version, so to speak (or in the testing phase, if you feel comfortable).

Basically, Laxer OS is a versatile and simple Linux distribution designed to meet the needs of competent and ordinary Linux users. It is powerful, easy to manage and install, making it an ideal distribution for workstations and laptops.
In the publication, they share the following:

“In this release, we made every effort to improve the overall operating system, since we are based on Arch Linux, it is very difficult to achieve operating system stability due to continuous update and continuous updates, but in the final version Today, we can guarantee that our system is very stable and ready to become your daily controller, whether for installation on a laptop or desktop and even if you use UEFI firmware or grub, we support both. ”

“This version is the first version of the Laxer OS, we have omitted many sophisticated features in that version, such as“ gnome design switch ”and we have also removed many planned to ship gnome extensions. Our main focus for this version was to bring stability and failure. Free operating system for daily use. ”

Currently, Laxer OS is at version 1.0, comes with the GNOME desktop environment and focuses on making installation, configuration and work on the system as easy as possible.

This first version focused mainly on providing a stable structure suitable for daily use, in addition to which the necessary functionality is planned in the future, for example, an interface is planned to be added to quickly change the design of the workspace.

As for the requirements required to install and run the system on your computer, you must at least have the following:

Only 1 GB of RAM;
64-bit 1GZ processor;
10 GB of hard disk space.
With these requirements, I must mention that you will be working a little bit, but it is an excellent proposal to run a system that does not require as many resources initially and we can allocate the rest of our equipment to our applications and games.

Regarding the recommended requirements:

2 GB of RAM;
64-bit 1GZ processor;
30 GB of hard disk space.
On the other hand, in relation to applications, we can find Firefox, LibreOffice, Flatpak, yay, ffmpeg, Gnome, GDM, hashcat, GIMP, Gparted, among others.

Finally, for those who are interested in learning more about this Linux distribution, in addition to finding the system installation guide, you can find more information on the distribution website .

Download and try the Laxer OS
If you are interested in testing or installing this Linux distribution, the Laxer OS ISO image can now be downloaded by visiting the distribution download page .
