Finally, antiX 19.4 beta testing version is available to download, antiX is a fast, lightweight and easy-to-install Linux live CD distribution based on Debian’s “Stable” branch for x86 compatible systems. Back in 2009, the antiX devs foresaw that usb flash drives would be the wave of the future for live Linux media, antiX offers users the “antiX Magic” in an environment suitable for old computers. The goal of antiX is to provide a light, but fully functional and flexible free operating system for both newcomers and experienced users of Linux. It should run on most computers, ranging from 256 MB old PIII systems with pre-configured swap to the latest powerful boxes. 256 MB RAM is recommended minimum for antiX. The installer needs minimum 2.7 GB hard disk size. antiX can also be used as a fast-booting rescue CD, or run “live” on a USB stick, with or without persistent file storage.
antiX 19.4 codenamed is “Grup Yorm” , grup yorm is Turkish most popular band (Yorum means interpretation or comment in Turkish), antix 19.4 testing version is based on Debian 10 buster stable branch, with Linux kernel 4.9.0 LTS, and Firefox ESR 78.10, Libreoffice 6.1.5.2

A lightweight Live-distribution AntiX 19.4 , built on the Debian package base and designed for installation on outdated hardware, has been released. The release is based on the Debian 10 (Buster) package base, but comes without the systemd manager and with eudev instead of udev. Runit or sysvinit can be used for initialization. The default user environment is built using the IceWM window manager, but Fluxbox, JWM, and herbstluftwm are also available to choose from. Midnight Commander, SpaceFM and ROX-Filer are available for working with files. The distribution kit works on systems with 256 MB of RAM. Size of iso images: 1.3 GB (full, includes LibreOffice), 728 MB (basic), 415 MB (no graphics), and 176 MB (network install). The assemblies are prepared for x86_64 and i386 architectures.
In the new release
Added additional settings to the installer. Added support for encrypted partitions in frugal install mode (boot similar to LiveCD to save resources).
The SeaMonkey browser has been added to the complete and basic assemblies. Firefox has been updated to release 78.10.0esr.
Mps-tube is excluded from delivery, ytfzf is added to download videos from YouTube using mpv / youtube-dl.
Improved and updated localization.
The Linux kernel has been updated to version 4.9.0-264.
LibreOffice office suite has been updated to version 7.0.4.
Updated IceWM window manager to version 2.3.4 (previously released 1.8.3).
A set of firmwares has been backported from Debian Sid.
Reduced the size of the base image to fit on the CD (GUI iso-snapshot replaced with iso-snashot-cli, removed Package Installer, smtube and virtualbox-guest).
