General Preferences in Adobe Photoshop
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The General Preferences menu inside Adobe Photoshop is where you can customize many of the basic features of the program.
1. Open the preferences menu by pressing Ctrl+K (Command+K for Mac).
2. Choose the General tab (if not already chosen). Make sure Adobe is chosen in the drop-down menu next to Color Picker.3. You can choose your HUD Color Picker. Press Command+Ctrl+Opt+left mouse click to bring up your color wheel.4. The Image Interpolation drop-down menu give you three options: Nearest Neighbor, Bilinear and Bicubic. Bicubic breaks down into three different types. Image Interpolation has to do with how Photoshop handles the pixels in your images when you resize them. Depending on the option you choose, this allows you to increase the file size of an image without creating a pixelated look.5. The next section in the General tab is Options. If you hover over any one of these, a bubble will pop-up that explains what each chosen option does.6. The History Log saves various actions into either the file itself (metadata), a text file, or both. Edit Log items is broken down into Sessions Only, which means it will only record when you open or close Photoshop, Concise, which means it will record every action you take, or Detailed, which not only will record the history but will also record anything you do in the Actions Panel. In general, you'll typically uncheck the History Log and leave it off.
