Guides, Grid and Slices
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're working on an image that contains colors similar to the default guide and grid colors, select the Guides, Grid and Slices in the Preferences menu and keep working without wondering whether or not you're in the correct area of your image.
1. Open the Preferences menu by pressing Ctrl+K (Command+K for Mac) and click on the tab Guides, Grid and Slices.
2. This option panel basically allows you to change the colors of everything you look at on the screen. This can help you differentiate between your image and the guides, grid and slices on your page. For instance, if you're working on an image that is green and your guides, grid and/or slices are also green, they will blend in with the image and you won't be able to see them or use them as reference points.
3. You can also choose how often you would like to see your grid lines by setting the gridline spacing in the field marked Gridline Every.
