About Menu Customization
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Menus in Photoshop have literally hundreds of options. Thankfully, Adobe has designed the program in such a way that you can create a more efficient workspace to expedite your creative process. By simply hiding and color-coding options, you will organize your project to the max.
Hiding & Color-Coding
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1. First, you will want to open up the Menus option. Go up to Edit at the top of your screen and click on Menus at the bottom of that list, or, you can access the same by going to Window, followed by Workspace and then Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus.
2. This window will have two tabs: Keyboard Shortcuts and one right next to that called Menus. You will want to click on the Menus tab.
3. Within the Menu For option you will see
Application Menus (File, Edit, Image, Layer, etc. at the top of your screen) and Panel Menus (Swatches, Characters, Layers, etc.). 4. There are many options within both Applications and Menus. You can turn off options (check the Visibility boxes if you want to hide them from your menus) or you can select their color (under the Color list).
5. By clicking on None listed next to each option, you can designate specific colors to highlight them in your workspace. For example, it could be useful to make all the Layers options one color, Refine & Modify options another, etc.
6. Click Okay and you will now see your various options color-coded in the Applications and Panels menus. By choosing which applications and panels you can see in your workspace and color-coding the most important ones, you can make your entire workflow that much easier.
