I don't know anything about Mad Max outside of the Fury Road movie, but seeing how that film showed so little about Max's world, this game may just as well serve as its bonus material. A very expansive and highly interactive bonus material. Max's world takes place on a desert, ruled by clans and fanatics boasting the most vicious of rides. Max's goal, I think, is to build a monstrous car of his own so he could best these challengers with it, ultimately for survival (and probably be the top dog).

The first time I saw the trailer for this game, it looked really good that I thought it would run like The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed: Unity on my computer. Lo and behold, I couldn't be happier to be wrong. The game is well-optimized, I could run it on max graphics settings and mostly maintain a performance of above 30 fps. The game has gorgeous lighting, rust and dust effects, shadows, object and character design -- all working together to bring Max's world to life. Combat is heavily influenced by the Arkham series and Shadow of Mordor. Not that that's a bad thing. It does have some variety to keep it from being stale. Then there's the vehicular fights, which is probably the game's main attraction. I haven't gotten to that part yet, but I hear it's really fun.

If you've been eager to dive into this game ever since you've seen it in trailers but are reluctant because your PC might not handle it well, fear not. It runs beautifully, even on today's weak hardware. The announced minimum requirements were quite overblown, and I'm seriously happy they weren't accurate (in a good way). We need more games that run like this and look pretty as hell, like this.
