This isn't the Battlefront game you're looking for. Hey, wait. That's like something Obi Wan would say! Aaaaanywaaaaay, it's an all-new Battlefront game...with pwitty gwafix. It was supposed to be every SW fan's wet dream, but the lack of a story mode spoiled that. Well, at least half of that. The all-new Battlefront has a PvP mode and a PvE mode. As expected, you can play the PvE mode with a friend or by yourself. What else can I say? DICE made it, so it's a competent shooter -- which is the primary mechanic here.

A sizable number was surprised when the official requirements were released. They were steep. Like The Witcher 3 steep. Just look at the minimum requirements:

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
Memory: 8GB RAM ---- WTF!
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card : nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB or ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB ---- WTF!
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent

A GTX 660 or an HD 7850 (FYI, the PS4's GPU is more or less a 7850)? An 8 GB memory? Fortunately, these requirements are only playing it safe and the actual minimum requirements are lower than what were announced. The game takes about 2.5 GB of system RAM, so the proper minimum would be 6 GB. As for the GPU, a GTX 560 or an HD 7790 would sound about right -- unless the announced requirements were for 1440p, then they would be accurate.

With a single 750M, I can get playable framerates in BF4 and Hardline on the Ultra preset in 768p. Battlefront certainly demands more power, because I can't get the same performance on the Ultra preset in 768p. I'm quite interested how it would manage on that forest map in Endor, because heavy foliage (unlike the spacey maps in the beta). One thing that was weird, though, the game recommends a certain minimum version of Intel HD Graphics for stability reasons whenever I try to launch the game. I'm not sure if it has any bearing, because who uses Intel HD Graphics for GPU-heavy games like this? However, my game doesn't close properly everytime I quit. A window pops up, saying something like "Windows is looking for a solution to your problem," everytime I quit the game. Also, if you've watched the video, you'll that the beta is plagued with bugs. Shadows popping in and out, repeatedly transforming terrain, sinking through the map... Having tried several beta releases, now, I can safely say that any beta released so close to launch is very likely representative of the launch build. I just hope it's just me having a problem for using a mobile GPU or else that would be a terrible launch.

Another thing about the video: it stutters from time to time. Worry not, because like in my Dying Light video, it's a recording problem. I haven't experienced stuttering in any of my actual playthroughs, including my playthrough in the video above.
