Looking for something to hold you off until Dead Island 2 and/or Mirror's Edge 2 comes out? Then Dying Light might just be for you. The game's primary focus is parkour action, which adds a fresh layer on survivability during a zombie outbreak. In Dying Light, zombies are slow during the day and terrifying at night. So, there is also the time limit factor to complete objectives while the sun's still up.

The game is fairly optimized, with View Distance being the most crippling setting on the framerate. Turning it way down would have trivial consequences on the visual quality, so it's encouraged to do so. The next demanding setting would be Shadow Map Size, Foliage Quality, Ambient Occlusion, and Anti-aliasing. Speaking of ambient occlusion, the differences between AO enabled and disabled isn't very noticeable. Maybe that's just me. Not sure what kind of AA was being used by the game. Could be some form of SMAA, like on consoles. If you absolutely need some AA, it's probably best to use FXAA from the Nvidia control panel to maximize performance.

Sorry about the framerate hiccups/stuttering in the video. It's Shadowplay that caused them, which is something I've never experienced before. With Shadowplay disabled, the gameplay is smooth. Well, as smooth as it can be, anyway. Real framerate hiccups would drastically drop framerates periodically and are often caused by insufficient VRAM capacity.

Maximum Operating Temperatures (1.5 hours of gaming):
CPU - 82 to 85 °C
GPU - 84 °C
