Want a roguelite score chaser where you mow down hordes of aliens with a portable machine gun on a tripod? Then check out this Cheapness affordable gaming review of Let Them Come [Episode 80]

Let Them Come is kind of a score chaser with roguelite elements and even tower defense sensibilities by Tuatara Games and published by Versus Evil. This cheap gaming review shows how:
-The game has very good visuals if you like the Sega Megadrive/ Genesis era (Early 3d with edgy sprites on top) with a drained colour palette interspersed with splashes of colour from green and purple alien goo (The aliens are fairly brown and maybe even generic in design but there are a lot of them on the screen at the same time and it does work)
-Good music that starts with a horror intro usually and then transitions into some clubby electro sometimes with 80s theming (Synthy) and on occasion it will enter other genre territory (You can set up your playlist from the cassettes you've unlocked). The music melds well with the gameplay - maybe too well sometimes (I had to watch my recorded footage to refresh my memory)
-Great, simple gameplay where you mostly aim in a forward arc (Press up and down) to hit the aliens as they approach you in the hallways (Some scamper on the walls and roof). Aim isn't as important as you'd expect as the hitboxes are generous. It's more about crowd control (Using throwables like grenades or special ammo to penetrate the walls of meat) and prioritizing enemies (For instance kill shielders to get them out of the way). Also you need to pick the right powerup when your combo meter fills up (Double damage, double barrel, double score etc.) and spend the score you accumulate when you die or inbetween areas to purchase the mentioned throwables and ammo as well as more permanent upgrades like what melee weapon you use to kill them when they come too close or passive benefits like faster fire (It has a roguelite element)
-New game plus is harder than it's worth (As common as that issue can be) and it imposes the standard mode's area restriction on the level of equipment you can buy so even though the earlier levels are harder now you can't buy the stuff you don't have yet to improve your odds (And that probably won't help as you should have most of the better gear options by this point anyway)
-Functional story (You earn logs of the deceased crew that are quite short)
