76It’s clear that the elves of Sundanessellar know exactly who Irenicus and Bodhi are and why they’d have reason to act against them but, for one reason or another, they’re choosing to keep it from us. It’d make a lot more sense for them to be upfront with Terri as the more information we have, the more likely we are to be able to assist them, but up until now we’ve been met with silence. Fortunately, not everyone in the besieged city shares the same mindset of Elhan, allowing us an opportunity to learn just what’s going on from someone in the know, provided of course we can rescue them from the attackers.
It’s here that we are once again reminded that games love to do large plot dumps right near the end. This isn’t always a bad thing, of course, especially when the information has been foreshadowed like it has in this game. When it pops out of nowhere like time travelling freight train is when narratives are majorly derailed, brought to a painful crawl by endless walls of narrative that are hard to follow. Some stories don’t survive this going wrong and those that do are almost always worse off for it, limping to a muddle and disjointed end.
