Let’s Play Edna & Harvey: The Breakout #06: An Ode to Polo Mallet
241Some items you pick up in point and click adventure games don’t appear to have an obvious use when you first take them, making you wonder why your character decided to hold onto it in the first place. On the other end of the scale is the polo mallet Edna now has, an implement as unsubtle and blunt in use as any other blunt object. It is a device of destruction and one that I’m sure is going to have so many applications, even if most of them don’t progress the plot in the least.
That said, having something to defend ourselves with isn’t bad at all, especially considering that we’re trying to escape from this place. The guards will certainly want to stop us and while we’ll use guile and smarts to get past some of them, we know that we have our good old dependable polo mallet for when that fails. That it’ll be used on everything we encounter like all other items in our inventory is a given, one that’ll surely have unintended and silly consequences, I’m sure.
